Nora Belton
Yoga happens when the body finds peace with form
About Nora.
Born in Los Angeles to parents she describes as political activists and nature lovers, Nora Belton was always attracted to a life less ordinary. Music and dance were her early passions while yoga was a practice to complement her dance career. Today, under the name Spirit Body Yoga, Nora hosts Sivananda style teacher training courses and works closely with people in recovery, believing yoga has the therapeutic power to heal mind, body and soul, and is ultimately a tool for happiness.

About teaching.
“After almost two years of the Global Pandemic there has been a shift in my personal practice and my outlook on teaching yoga, training yoga teachers and my perspective of Yoga practice in general. This shift is characterised by an on-going inquiry into the nature and significance of the healing modes I practice, calling for more authenticity, simplicity, communication and a spirit of inquiry in general.
As I move gently “back” into work mode after this hiatus it feels more important than ever to create an environment where I can be an instrument of growth and change and where I am also learning.
I feel a need to address our individual and collective response to trauma; conscious and unconscious. Our reality is shifting every day and there is so much room for growth and introspection. It seems life is slowing down and speeding up at the same time. There is a constant need to ground, and a call for grounding practices. Isolation/connectedness, fear/safety, powerlessness/gratitude….these are some of the themes I feel drawn to explore.”
Spirit Body Yoga.
Spirit Body Ibiza was founded by Nora Belton – a humble, highly experienced Ibiza yoga instructor, massage therapist, Reiki master and musician – in 2010. Having first arrived in Ibiza in 1984, surrendering to an inner calling to connect with nature, the Californian-born former dancer transformed her lifelong yoga practice into a way of life, with her natural teaching and healing abilities attracting students from all over the world.
Certified by the renowned Yoga Alliance, Spirit Body Yoga Ibiza hosts annual residential teacher training retreats and yoga holidays in Ibiza. Under Nora’s expert guidance, students learn to teach in the traditional Sivananda style and study the philosophies of yoga, anatomy and physiology, Ayurveda and much more, immersed in an Ashram style environment.
Spirit Body Yoga is also registered with the Yoga Alliance as a Continuing Education Provider. If you are a member of Y.A. you can join CE workshops to earn credit.
Imparting her students and clients with ancient tools for life, the hands-on, intuitive and multi-lingual yogi gives people the space they need within a respectful, trusting environment. Private yoga sessions – in her Santa Eulalia studio or within your home or holiday villa – and ‘yoga as therapy’ are also available upon request.
In addition, Nora offers an extensive range of complementary therapies and leads regular devotional Kirtan chanting circles. Your mind, body and spirit are in good hands…

Therapies
“Our whole business therefore in this life is to restore to health the eye of the heart whereby God may be seen.” ― Augustine of Hippo
Yoga as therapy
An alternative and complementary practice that supports the client using the techniques and philosophy of Classical Yoga to help guide them on their journey of self-healing.
Cranial sacral therapy
Basic CST is an osteopathic technique used to perceive and
accompany the cerebrospinal fluid rhythm encouraging its
natural flow. When the CSF moves freely, the body’s natural healing responses can function. Stresses & physical
or emotional trauma can create an imbalance in the body.
Bach flower remedies
Edward Bach developed the flower remedies through his
work in Homeopathy. He described illness as when
the personality acts in conflict with the soul.
Bach Flower remedies support the body’s own inherent
tendency to strive for balance and healing.
Therapeutic massage
A combination of these healing modalities: Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Foot Reflexology, Deep Tissue and Rebalancing, depending on the needs and feedback of the client and my intuition. Sometimes a session is supplemented with instruction of Yoga postures and restorative exercises to practice at home, as well as advice concerning habits and diet..
Reiki
Reiki is translated as “universal life energy.” It is a hands-on
healing practice, also described as a “folk art.” In the Usui
System of Reiki Healing, hands can be applied to one’s own
body or to another’s whenever there is a desire for healing,
be it emotional, physical, mental or spiritual.
Offerings
Online Guided Meditations with REIKI HOME
Self-treatment in an online “circle.” This is open to everyone whether you have Reiki initiation or not. One way I have found to guide and share a Reiki-inspired “virtual” experience is to engage the mind in connection with our memory and imaginations of felt-sense experience, using voice and silence and leaning into the Earth’s elements. We engage the mind ever so gently so that it does not become an intellectual exercise but more of a body of possibility through which Reiki can freely flow. Please join me for this somatic Reiki exploration.

Yoga Classes
For me, teaching is a balance of love, discipline and vocation. I taught the Sivananda style of yoga for over 20 years, and now I bring in elements of other styles that have inspired me, including Iyengar, Restorative and Somatic Yoga. My classes and workshops also have a therapeutic, and fun orientation, focusing on conscious movement and safe alignment, and are tailored to the abilities of each student. Awareness is brought to the harmonization of breath, sensation and natural movement, always listening for our inner voice. I teach all levels, helping beginners to create a basic routine, and supporting more advanced students with their preferred style.
SOMATIC YOGA
Approaching Asana is about recovering your natural movement through yoga. The instructions are actually suggestions that speak to your direct experience of your nature as nature, inviting you to release restrictive tensions and heal. This practice restores balance to the nervous system, nourishes natural immunity, and your capacity to embrace life from a real sense of firm ground and balance.
My job as teacher is to guide and accompany you on a journey of authenticity through somatic movement

Reiki Classes & Initiation 1st and 2nd degree, Master
Reiki is translated as “universal life energy.” It is a hands-on healing practice, also described as a “folk art.” In the Usui System of Reiki Healing, hands can be applied to one’s own body or to another’s whenever there is a desire for healing, be it emotional, physical, mental or spiritual. Universal life energy is channeled through the practitioner’s hands, restoring balance and enhancing one’s natural flow of energy, bringing a sense of well-being, relaxation and healing.
Giving a Reiki treatment is simple, and yet with regular practice and being present with this energy, one continues to grow in awareness and perception. The results of receiving Reiki treatments are at the sametime immediate and far-reaching. It can be used to accelerate the healing of bruises and burns as well as chronic illnesses or emotional states.
LEARNING REIKI
The capacity to use universal life energy for the purpose of healing is conferred by a Reiki Master through initiation and through a specific form of teaching. Relationship with a teacher is vital to initiation. Through exposure to a qualified and experienced Reiki Master we gain inspiration, confidence and trust. We make a strong link, not only with that teacher but with the entire lineage of masters associated with the practice going back to Mikao Usui himself.” *
THE CLASS
Anyone and everyone can learn to do Reiki, no matter their experience or background. The Usui system is simple to learn. The class takes place in four 3-hour sessions, allowing time in-between for assimilation and integration into our bodies and in our lives. Sometimes in our fast-paced life it is easy to bypass something so subtle and so profound as our own healing power. You begin by learning to treat yourself, then to treat friends, family, and pets.
ORIGINS
Using the hands for healing is as old as human kind. This particular form, the Usui System of Reiki Healing, was initiated and developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the late 1800’s, following his travels abroad in a life-long quest for healing knowledge.
This system comes to us through a line of Reiki Masters and students who are committed to maintaining the integrity of the practice.
